Trust Yourself

It can be hard to trust yourself at a time like this – when you’re going through something unknown and overwhelming. But, it is especially important in those moments to listen to the voice inside you and to trust yourself.

There is a lot of noise out there about the bar exam. Everyone you know will want to give you advice. (This blog included.) But the truth is that only you know what works for you. Don’t feel like you have to conform to the study methods that someone else said worked for them. Everyone is different, and therefore everyone needs to do slightly different things.

If something feels like it is not adding value, it’s better to spend time on something else. If you feel like you want to spend more time on something that you’re not getting to, prioritize it. Don’t do things just because someone else told you that’s what worked for them. Tune people out and trust what your brain is telling you.

Remember the three important things to do each day:

  1. Lecture
  2. Make/review the materials you will memorize from
  3. Do some actual bar-style practice questions

Exactly how/when you do each thing is up to you.
